At Delicious Dublin Tours we’re all about food and singing the praises of Irish produce on a full-time basis. So today we’re sharing this great little Flavours from the Island of Ireland video which was released by our friends at Discover Ireland. In just 51 seconds it tells you why Irish food is so great and is designed to whet your appetite before you get to us.
Here are a few things that make food in Ireland great:
Irish Food – A Sense of Place
Irish produce is connected to the land and the sea – it’s really easy to get a sense of place when visiting some modern Irish food restaurants where the chefs make use of the best produce such as Chapter One (Dublin), Sage restaurant (Midleton), Aniar (Galway), Loam (Galway), The Lemon Tree (Letterkenny) and Mews (Baltimore).
Natural Flavours
You just have to taste our beef and dairy produce, it speaks for itself. The cows in Ireland are grass-fed and spent most of the time outdoors eating lush green grass. Many artisan Irish products use only natural ingredients from the land and sea.
A Booming Food Scene
Well, this is a subject we know about at Delicious Dublin Tours. The number of great cafes and restaurants all over the country has considerably increased in the last few years. Of course there are 12 Michelin-starred restaurants in Ireland but plenty of non-starred restaurants that are amazing too!
A Rich Culinary Heritage
We’re all about the creativity expressed in the modern food scene but let’s not forget all the traditional dishes and cooking methods, from the Boxty to Irish soda bread, from the Irish stew to Colcannon you need to experience the old school too!
Now that we’ve caught your attention, have the look at the Flavours of Ireland video below:

It is true that Ireland suffers from the bad reputation of the country next door, but little tourists know that the food culture here is so diverse and has evolved a lot in recent years ! From the carvery in the local pub to the Michelin starred restaurant, Ireland has a lot to offer, not only in Dublin but throughout the whole of Ireland !
My favourite ? Hard to say, anything with seafood/fish in it (which I discovered goes so well with a fresh pint of Guinness !😎)
