At this time of year, social media becomes dominated by shamrock shaped cake sprinkles and luminous green cupcakes. Yet St Patrick’s day is an opportune time to instead broadcast our real Irish food story. We want to focus the conversation on authentic Irish food and dispel the myths and cliches. This St Patrick’s Day, the Failte Ireland Food Champions invite you to join this important movement by using the hashtag #thisisIrishfood to share food images and experiences that truly represent our food island. Snap a picture of your Irish farmhouse cheeseboard, a selfie with your smoked salmon or a time lapse of your pint of craft beer settling, and post to Twitter, Instagram and Facebook with the hashtag #thisisirishfood.
