Last week the Michelin Guide announced the results of their awards in the UK and Ireland. The Irish food community had been hoping for a star for fine dining restaurant The Greenhouse for the last few years and was finally delighted to see it happen this year. However, Michelin surprised everyone by not awarding one to Thornton’s restaurant (owned by Kevin Thornton) which had maintained a star for the past 20 years.
